Determining Proper Spacers for my Frame | 5DEV Crank Install
How do I properly install 5DEV Cranks with Spacers
Q: What spacer should I use on the drive side?
A: We suggest using the standard 3.5mm SRAM DUB Spacer on the drive side. Ensure that your chainring is not contacting the chainstay.
Q: What should I do for the non-drive side?
A: For the non-drive side, back the preload collar all the way out, and measure the gap between the collar and the bottom bracket (BB). Use the appropriate spacer to fill that area, leaving a gap of 0.5 - 1mm. Use the preload collar to take up the remaining space.
Q: How do I ensure my crank arms are properly positioned?
A: Measure the distance of your crank arms from the chainstay to make sure they are both the same distance and at least 3 - 5mm away from the frame. If the distance is less than 3mm, we recommend using the 136mm spindle or the SRAM Wide width.
